Conocer el concepto de deuda política y el proceso que deben seguir los partidos políticos para justificar sus gastos fueron parte de los temas tratados en el conversatorio "Sistema de financiamiento político en Costa Rica", organizado por el Colegio de Periodistas y Profesionales en Ciencias de la Comunicación Colectiva de Costa Rica y el Instituto de Formación y Estudios en Democracia.
Los panelistas fueron Guiselle Valverde, fiscalizadora de información financiera del Departamento de Financiamiento de Partidos Políticos del Tribunal Supremo de Elecciones; Ronald Chacón, jefe del Departamento de Financiamiento de Partidos Políticos del Tribunal Supremo de Elecciones y Ronald Alfaro, investigador principal del Capítulo Fortalecimiento de la Democracia del Programa Estado de la Nación.
